Design

For printing advertising catalogs, you must provide a project in PDF format made in a size compatible with the model of the ordered product.
Project mockup and description are available on the product configurator page.

Cover back

When designing, an important issue when choosing glued binding is the width of the cover spine.
For medium paper with a weight of 130g in gloss, one sheet should be counted as 0.08 mm, for matte paper this value is 0.09 mm.
For 170g medium paper, these values are 0.09 and 0.10 mm, respectively.
For aesthetic reasons and manufacturing tolerances, the spine color is the safest to design in the color of the cover.

Printing

We provide printing in two different technologies, which makes our offer flexible and tailored to customer needs. Digital printing technology is used for print runs of 1 to several hundred, while we use offset print technology for print runs counted in thousands. We carry out printing in black and color on a wide spectrum of papers. Popular paper combinations are 250-300g for the cover + 130-170g for the middle of the catalog.

Refinement

The print can be refined with varnish or laminate foil matt / gloss as well as UV selective varnish.

Sewn with wire

This type of binding uses wire, commonly found in notebooks, to connect sheets of paper, hence the commonly used name "notebook binding". The notebook binding is used for a book with a volume of 8 to several dozen pages (directly depends on the thickness of the paper used). The ridge in this binding has a mild shape, unlike a paperback book. In this type of binding the number of pages of a book must be divisible by 4. The binding of this type is less durable than a soft glued binding because the pages are fastened only in two points, and not along the entire length. The binding sewn with wire is the cheapest available.

Soft glued

The most popular type of book binding. The basic feature of this binding is the paper cover, which allows it to bend (it is soft). Covers in paperback books are usually papers and cardboard boxes weighing 250-350g - stiffness similar to a business card. Paperback is used for books of at least 80 pages. The ridge should be between 5 and 50 mm wide. Publications with a small number of pages are not feasible in this technology and require the use of wire stitching .

In soft binding, two gluing technologies are used, depending on the needs: Hot-melt and PUR.

Hot-melt (hot glue) is the most popular method commonly found in books for decades. There are many varieties of glue in this technology that is constantly being improved. The latest varieties of hot glue achieve elasticity and durability parameters similar to polyurethane glue, which significantly increases its use.
Hot-melt is characterized by high durability, glue joint and favorable production price. It is most suitable for paperback books printed on uncoated paper. Its important advantage is the setting speed, which occurs immediately after the adhesive has cooled, allowing for further bookbinding and quick delivery of the finished product to the recipient.

PUR (polyurethane adhesive) - An adhesive cured during a chemical reaction, gaining high elasticity and adhesion to all printing substrates. This gives measurable benefits when gluing books and catalogs with rigid coated paper inside. Thanks to the flexible glue joint, the book can be easily unfolded without the risk of spine breakage

Spiral binding

The luminaire is popularly used in various documents, menus and catalogs that will be intensively used. Thanks to the perforation of the sheets and the use of a metal spiral, sheets of any stiffness can be turned freely. The lack of a spine makes it possible to break the book in any way. This luminaire is very convenient to use. The possibility of choosing a spiral in different colors can be an additional ornament.
